About Natchitoches

Established in 1714 along the banks of the Cane River, Natchitoches is recognized as the oldest permanent settlement in the Louisiana Purchase. Natchitoches also holds a special place in cinematic history as the primary filming location for the beloved movie Steel Magnolias, attracting fans eager to experience its picturesque settings in person.
