Through data-driven insights and hands-on partnerships, CORI works alongside communities to find new pathways to economic prosperity. From providing technical support to equipping entrepreneurs with the tools for success, we partner with rural communities to build the capacity and secure the funding needed to fuel long-term success.

Since 2017, we have worked with 60 communities across 30 states, guiding them on their journey to leverage the power of innovation. Together, we’re unlocking rural potential.

Through research, stakeholder interviews, and data analysis, CORI delivers a comprehensive readiness assessment that gives you a clear, informed starting point for building your tech economy.  

This assessment provides a data-driven review of potential pathways, identifies local assets and opportunities, and offers high-level recommendations for growing your community’s tech economy. At the end of this process, stakeholders, funders, and business leaders have a shared vision for economic transformation and communities have a compelling case for action.

CORI’s team of rural economic development experts and data specialists collaborate with rural leaders to create a customized roadmap that defines clear objectives and practical actions. These comprehensive strategies can include activities such as stakeholder engagement, tech workforce development, start-up support, and capital formation. At the end of the engagement, communities have a framework, including a budget, potential funding sources, and a timeline, to guide their tech economy growth.

How can you fund your plans?

Funding support

CORI works with communities to identify and secure funding opportunities to support their strategy implementation. We have worked with 60 communities to secure nearly $40 million in federal funding and matching dollars to implement their strategies.

We provide expert guidance in crafting compelling grant proposals, developing project management plans, budget templates, and conducting thorough reviews to maximize success.

From navigating the grant-writing process to designing impactful initiatives that align with regional strengths and funder priorities, we offer comprehensive support to ensure communities have the resources to bring their vision to life.
